Own The Space is building an ambitious campaign hub to support a variety of critical initiatives on Palestine. On issues ranging from political prisoners to the bias in digital platforms, the Palestine Hub will deliver large-scale creative interventions, breakthrough social content and secure top-tier media to shift the debate in a number of key areas.
We are looking for a highly-motivated Campaign Manager to lead a team within the Hub. Proficiency in spoken Levantine Arabic is an asset but not a prerequisite.
You will be responsible for:
- Making things happen: From coordinating a public event to developing creative content, the campaigning will be varied, so managing productions, budgets and people in response to real-time events will be critical
- Creating networks: Building relationships with partners and allies including political representatives, community groups, campaigns, businesses and analysts
- Developing strategies: Identifying opportunities for impact informed by a sharp understanding of political and public debates
- Grabbing attention: You understand that we live in an attention economy and have the ability to command interest in issues and campaigns - even those that have previously been ignored. Your innate ability to make an issue compelling means it reaches millions of people
- Building hope: Whether it’s within the team, with partners or in a piece of content, you will know how to use hope to inspire action and build momentum
- Managing the team: Motivating and managing a small-team of talented campaigners to deliver the strategy and tactics needed
About you
In addition to at least seven years of experience in campaigning and a personal motivation on Palestine, below are the core attributes we think will make you successful and happy in the role. You are:
- Creative: You know making change is hard, especially when confronting the challenges in this campaign space. You will never stop thinking of ideas and tactics to break through these barriers
- Impact driven: You have a focus on impact, constantly assessing the most effective deployment of limited resources. You’re motivated by the difference your efforts make
- A doer: You work best when part of a small, collaborative team. You think beyond the limits of your current role, spot opportunities and make things happen. You take risks, are unafraid of failure and never stop generating ideas
- A builder: You build relationships with those in your team and your sector. You can bring people together around an idea
- A systems thinker: You think in terms of systems and processes and build effective ways of working
